Anyone who has ever dealt with severe acne has likely had some facial scarring as a side-effect. Nobody likes the look of acne, and in addition, when acne scarring sets in, it may make your facial appearance worsen. Luckily, there are dermatologists that know how to get rid of acne scars. You want to know how to get rid of acne scars
First of all, it is important to know that there is hope for people that experience facial scarring from their severe acne. Many natural and skin creams have been found effective in the removal process of facial scars as a result of acne. However, for the quickest and most effective method of acne scar removal, laser treatment is usually recommended.
Laser therapy for acne scarring involves a trained dermatologist zapping dead skin and scar cells off of your face. It is a fairly quick treatment and most patients report being satisfied with how their face looks and how quick they able to recover after the treatment; full recovery generally takes at least one week. Getting rid of acne scars with laser-techniques can be expensive, but is usually worth it. No other form of treatment does as good of a job. Cost of a laser treatment is usually in the range of $1,000 to $5,000 dollars.
The general consensus seems to be that if you have acne scarring and aren't concerned about your finances, then laser removal is your best bet. On the other hand, if you have less of a budget to work with for your acne scar removal, you may want to consider testing out some skin creams to improve the appearance of your scarring.
Many skin creams have been reported to be effective at increasing smooth skin, and reducing the appearance of acne scars. But what about saying a permanent goodbye to your acne scars? Is there a cure for your acne that caused the scars in the first place? If you think there is a cure out there for your acne, your thinking needs to be realigned with reality.
With that said, there are many great treatments out there that can in fact prevent acne from developing, thus preventing the resulting scars. Treatment for severe acne that leads to scarring usually involves a form of anti-acne face cream, gel, or lotion. A strict washing routine is often assigned by a dermatologist and routine check-ups with the dermatologist are scheduled.
There are other newer methods like the injection of what are called dermal fillers. Dermal fillers are injected behind acne scars with the intent to stabilize scarred cells with an acid-based substance. This is not a treatment that I'd personally recommend due to the fact that it always requires the person to return for more acidic injections. Not to mention, I don't think that anyone enjoys getting needles poked into their face. This treatment method should be utilized if you have a very low budget and nothing else seems to work.
Based on all of the evidence, I recommend getting rid of your acne scars by having them laser-treated. The laser treatment is quick, simple, and facilitates a speedy recovery. Other treatments may work, but are clearly not as effective as this option. There may be other effective treatment options, such as microdermabrasion, that were not mentioned in this article that your dermatologist may know about. It is always wise to consult with a dermatologist and evaluate your options before making an investment and deciding to get rid of your acne scars.
